The Diversity & Gender Dimension Board of the Center for Solid State Physics and New Materials

The Diversity & Gender Dimension Board of the Center for Solid State Physics and New Materials was appointed on 26. 03. 2024. The Board will offer support to achieve objectives and monitor progress in promoting diversity and gender equity in the field of Research and Innovation.

The term of office of the council is 5 years and it will be chaired by Dr. Bojana Višić, with following members:

The Boards’ task encompass:

  1. Monitoring the enforcement of regulations and laws pertaining to equal opportunities in science.
  2. Evaluating the current status and advancements in achieving equal opportunities in science across various societal domains.
  3. Proposing initiatives, suggestions, and recommendations for implementing measures to realize equal opportunities in science.
  4. Spearheading initiatives to foster education, raise awareness, and conduct research in the realm of equal opportunities in science.
  5. Monitoring developments within EU and national institutions concerning equal opportunities in science.
  6. Initiating the gathering and analysis of data to formulate effective policies for equal opportunities in science, aiming for targeted and impactful actions.
  7. Highlighting and working to eliminate discriminatory practices in securing funding for research and scientific endeavours.
  8. Advocating for a gender-balanced composition within both permanent and ad hoc professional bodies.
  9. Engaging in consultations and dialogues on equal opportunities and proposing structural changes to ensure fairness in science.

The board will be meeting on a three-month basis, and the records of the meetings will be documented. A quorum is required for the committee meeting to proceed, and the meetings can be both in person and on an online platform, where needed.
