Outreach to Schools: Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists

The Center for Solid State Physics and New Materials at the Institute of Physics Belgrade is dedicated to sharing the excitement of science with young minds. Through our school outreach program, we aim to introduce students to the fascinating world of physics and materials science in a way that is engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate.

We welcome elementary and high school students to explore how science shapes the world around us—through interactive lectures, live demonstrations, lab visits, and conversations with our researchers. From magnetic levitation and crystals to semiconductors and new materials like graphene, we bring real-world science directly to the classroom—or invite students into our labs.

This program is actively led by our colleagues Dr. Dejan Đokić and Dr. Marko Opačić, who dedicate their time and energy to making science fun, understandable, and inspiring for younger generations.

What we offer:

  • Visits to schools with exciting presentations and physics demonstrations

  • Organized group visits to our research labs at the Institute

  • Interactive workshops on magnetism, electricity, nanomaterials, and more

  • Support for student science fair projects and mentoring

  • Participation in national science events and festivals

If your school is interested in organizing a visit or collaborating with us, please reach out using our school outreach contact form.
