The Workshop on Cross-Disciplinary 3D Printing took place on 27 July 2026 in the Dr. Dragan Popović Library Reading Room at the Institute of Physics Belgrade, bringing together researchers from diverse disciplines to discuss recent advances in additive manufacturing. The workshop was organized with the support of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia through the Serbian Scientific Cooperation Program with the Diaspora: Support for Visits of Diaspora Scientists (Grant Agreement No. 374).
The program featured four invited lectures highlighting the versatility of modern 3D printing technologies:
- Nedeljko Tica (Sferikon d.o.o.) introduced the fundamentals of 3D printing and provided an overview of current additive manufacturing techniques.
- Dr. Jelena Otašević (Institute of Physics Belgrade) presented recent advances in 3D-printed dental resin composites, discussing their biological and chemical properties in comparison with conventional light-cured materials.
- Barbara Bekić (Institute of Physics Belgrade) showcased research on graphene-based 3D-printed TPMS (Triply Periodic Minimal Surface) structures, emphasizing their potential for advanced functional materials.
- Prof. Milena Stavrić (Institute of Architecture and Media, TU Graz) explored innovative approaches to 3D printing of clay in architecture, demonstrating how additive manufacturing is reshaping sustainable architectural design.
The workshop concluded with a networking session, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss future collaborations, and strengthen interdisciplinary connections between academia and industry.
Events such as this highlight the growing importance of additive manufacturing as a platform that connects materials science, physics, engineering, architecture, and biomedical research, opening new opportunities for collaborative research and technological innovation.
Serving as the concluding event of the one-year NMMGrams project, the workshop highlighted the project's achievements in promoting knowledge exchange and cross-disciplinary collaboration in 3D printing technologies.
